Remembrance 2023 - Royal British Legion Industries
What an experience working with Royal British Legion Industries (RBLI) and spending time with the veterans and serving soldiers of the 36 Engineer Regiment and The Queen’s Gurkha Engineers at Invicta Park Barracks, Maidstone.
The idea of the project was to highlight 104 years since the tradition of Remembrance began by having a mixture of 104 veterans and military personnel to map out the image of the First World War “Tommy” (also the logo for the Royal British Legion Industries) at Invicta Park Barracks in Maidstone.
After lining up to form the Tommy, each individual held one of the RBLI’s Perspex Tommy military figures, each one engraved with the name of a veteran to represent someone RBLI has supported since its inception in 1919, and to symbolise all branches of the Armed Forces and stand for the sacrifices they have all made.
Working alongside my good friend Geoff from Aerial Imaging South East, we were there to capture the event.
The weather conditions were tricky, so it was a massive credit to Geoff for capturing the drone images.
I covered ground photography, behind-the-scenes images and portraits for the veterans.

In the meantime here are a few behind-the-scenes photographs (thanks Geoff) of me at work with the veterans during the portrait photography!
