A Rather Special Project for a Friend at the Arras Memorial & Cemetery in France
As well as portrait and professional branding Photography, I still like to cover more personal projects too. So, I couldn’t resist the opportunity, when a very good friend told me that he was going to visit the Arras Memorial in France, 101 years to the day, to commemorate his Grandfather’s Uncle. Private 16142 Henry Bennet of the 7th Bn East Surrey Regiment 21 years old – who was killed during the first world war on the 3rd of May 1917.
The Arras Memorial commemorates close to 35,000 British, South African and New Zealand soldiers with no known grave. Most commemorated were killed in the Battle of Arras between 9th April and 16th May 1917
