RSC Training Video Production and Virtual Tour - Client Case Study
Video production and 360 virtual tour project and case study with RSC Training Ltd – London (Greenwich) based training company providing accredited Working-at-height courses.
Welcome to RSC Training.
We are RSC training company established in 2015. We predominantly provide working-at-height training, access equipment training, and other government safety-related courses.
Our main training centre is based in Thamesmead, South East London, and we also have a second facility in Cambridgeshire. From there, we run most of our courses and on-location site courses across the UK.
Being primarily London-based, we have a substantial client base across London, Kent, and the South East, and run courses nationwide. We don’t have a main demographic of customers. The spectrum is quite broad. We get people from all walks of life who need to work at height, such as electricians and those working in construction. But we also have clients from museums, theatres, schools, and colleges.
What was your goal with RSC Training's marketing strategy?
We’ve launched our new YouTube channel and are now looking to populate it with content. Our marketing is mainly social media and email-based, which is all good, but video gets people’s attention better and has a lot of reach by showcasing what we do from a visual point of view.
That was obviously the point of coming to yourself. 😊
We’ve been talking about ideas for a while, and we decided to put some helpful videos out there so people can understand what we do.
Additionally, we observed customers struggling to reach the training centre despite receiving joining instructions. It’s about providing a more comprehensive service for our customers. And helping them not get lost in Thamesmead!
It’s also about growing the business and developing our SEO side of things, being found online when people are looking for courses, and ultimately bringing more business in with people booking.
We wanted to start our YouTube channel with something very professional. Then, based on that, we could start making more nitty-gritty videos ourselves, if that makes sense.
Why not create your own video content?
We wanted something professional looking. 💯
When we do something, we want to do it right, get it right the first time, and show our customers and the industry that we are a professional brand.
Why work with Graham Baker Photography?
We were recommended to attend one of your Business photography workshops at the Engine House, which you ran for the South East Enterprise.
I’m one of those people who goes with my first gut reaction. I’ll go with it because I like someone or feel that doing something with them will be worthwhile.
That was my impression from your course. I thought, “Yes, this guy knows what he’s talking about and what he’s doing.” I enjoyed your approach.
You gave us some demonstrations and showed us your previous work, and we were really impressed with that. I hadn’t looked at anyone else before or since. I didn’t need to research others; I went with our impression of you based on your workshop and knowledge.
How did I address any concerns about the project?
Working towards the same goal of getting it right, because ultimately we wanted it to be right, and showcase what we do.
Communication was key and you did your research and due diligence into what we do before you came to us. You worked with us to learn the processes and what do. So it was more like a team effort and collaboration if that makes sense. Bouncing ideas back and forth was useful, and you were always open to listening to our ideas and vice versa.
Planning: It’s more than just observing and recording what the client does, it’s essential to spend time understanding how the client helps their customers so I can present their brand story in the best possible way.
What was the process like?
We got through it relatively quickly on the day, mainly because we worked well together. 😊
We had a little bit, follow up issues with with the noise that we had in the centre at the time, which meant we couldn’t record the voiceovers but at the end of the day, we didn’t actually stipulate any major time frame on the project, and we didn’t want to rush. As we said at the start, the quality of the result was more important.
The communications were excellent, especially when you sent us the draft versions of the videos for feedback and then made the necessary adjustments, bringing us to the point where we were ready to go!
Google Maps
We had an issue with Google Maps pointing to the wrong location, which you helped correct. You’ve also created the 360-degree photographs on Google Maps and the website tour; we have the What3Words reference, joining instructions, and now the videos. It will make it a lot easier for clients to find us.
Professionalism and helping customers
We wanted to start this by showing our professionalism and it’s not just us and our training centre and website. There’s more to us. The videos on how to find us videos shows our willingness to help our customers beyond the course itself.
For some delegates who are training for the first time don’t know what to expect. It’s possible that their company has sent them along and may be a bit apprehensive, so allowing them to see our training centre beforehand (through the interactive 360 virtual tour plus Google Maps) and fun videos on how to find us can alleviate some of their concerns, especially with operating unfamiliar machinery and being at heights.
