Graffiti inspired model portfolio session
While this year has been one of my busiest yet in terms of bookings, it’s also meant that I haven’t had as much opportunity to shoot just for fun; and while I continually learn every time I pick up my camera, it’s also really important to keep developing skills, as well as challenging what I already know!
So when the opportunity came up recently for a get together with some other great photographers, a professional model (Sarah Swift) and excellent makeup artist, (Kirsty Marie) to just bounce ideas off each other, practice; and basically just have some photography fun.
Here’s a big shout out to the lad who very kindly let us borrow his skateboard for these shots!
After having a load of fun at the Southbank Graffiti wall and ‘skate’ area, it was a short walk over the road to Leake Street and The Graffiti Tunnel, which runs under Waterloo station. With even more setups, clothing changes for Sarah and makeup and styling from Kirsty to photograph!
I also have to mention the very privileged use of a Harley Davidson motorcycle (thanks David!) to use in the photo sets too!
Once we had finished up at the Graffiti Tunnel, we moved onto and finished up the shoot on a covered footbridge close to Waterloo Station. So another change of clothing for Sarah (completely unphased and professional getting changed in public! Followed by the challenge of trying to light and photograph a model during the commuter rush hour!
A brilliant day’s shooting and a whole lot of fun!
