The Mountain Girl Snowdon Base Camp adventure weekend for Ormiston Six Villages Academy Students fundraising challenge for men’s bereavement charity StrongMen.
When you combine adventure, teamwork and a meaningful cause, you create a story worth telling.
This promotional event film follows an inspiring adventure weekend organised by The Mountain Girl, where students from Ormiston Six Villages Academy took on the challenge of climbing Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) to raise awareness and funds for the men’s bereavement charity StrongMen.
The adventure challenge was more than hiking to the top of Mount Snowdon. It was about giving the students a chance to build confidence and discover the benefits of stepping away from their phones and into the great outdoors, with Eryri (Snowdonia National Park) as the backdrop.
During the adventure weekend, I filmed the action, from the excitement of fire-building and s’mores at Snowdon Base Camp to the climb and the celebrations at the end. My goal was to create a fast-paced video that shares their story.
The Snowdon climb formed part of a wider fundraising campaign that also included running, swimming and cycling challenges. Together, the students, academy staff and supporters raised an incredible £5,000 for StrongMen, helping provide support for men affected by bereavement.
Projects like this demonstrate the power of professional event videography and promotional video production. Rather than simply recording an event, effective storytelling captures the atmosphere, emotion and purpose behind it, creating engaging content that inspires audiences, celebrates achievements and extends the impact of the event long after it has finished.
