It’s part of my ethos to strive to be the best that I can be; so it’s vitally important as a photographer, that I continually invest and develop my craft at every opportunity that I can. That is why I recently attended a three day professional level Portrait Newborn and Baby workshop hosted by Just Pose Baby. This was so much more than just excellent instruction, this was very much a practical and hands on workshop, covering all aspects of Newborn and Baby portraits (the whole first year) and working with real clients.
Before photographing a newborn baby it is vitally important to have had the proper instruction. It is just not enough to be able to understand camera craft and controlling the light (be that natural or artificial), it’s also about creating the right environment, having confidence in handling and posing the baby, managing your expectations, having a great deal of patience, dealing with the unexpected and above all, ensure maximum safety for your baby throughout the entire session.
Below are just some of the images that I took.
